The subjects in Finnish photographer Esko Männikkö’s portraits – people with whom he has usually spent period prior to photographing them – are rarely found in unfilled spaces.
Normally they are blaze in situ: in their accommodation, among the tools of their trade or the worn force utensils that surround them.
